Amy Royal advises businesses on complex employment, labor, and commercial litigation matters, with a focus on high-stakes disputes, workplace strategy, and risk management.
Over the course of her distinguished career, Amy represented employers across a wide range of industries, handling all phases of litigation from inception through trial and appeal. Her practice included employment litigation, business tort defense, contract disputes, and labor matters such as collective bargaining, arbitrations, employee grievances, and union-related issues. She was known for her rigorous advocacy and her ability to navigate complex disputes with precision and discipline.
Amy also counsels clients on workplace strategy and compliance, including employment policies, internal investigations, wage and hour practices, and management training. In addition, she advises on corporate and transactional matters, bringing a litigation-informed perspective to contract drafting, negotiation, and regulatory compliance.
Amy began her legal career as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where she defended the state in civil litigation matters. She also served as a judicial extern in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York and worked in the City of Springfield Law Department. In 2008, she founded The Royal Law Firm, building a sophisticated practice focused on representing businesses. In 2025, the firm combined with Spruce Law, expanding its capabilities and reach.
Amy has a lasting legacy through the firm she built and the clients she served. We are honored to continue her work and build upon the foundation she created.
