Elaine advises employers, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations on labor and employment matters, with a focus on collective bargaining, personnel strategy, and dispute resolution.


Over the course of her distinguished career, Elaine has represented a wide range of public and private sector clients, including municipalities, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Her practice includes collective bargaining, mediation, employment counseling, and the defense of discrimination claims. She is particularly experienced in advising organizations on complex workforce issues and labor relations strategy.


Elaine has served as long-time Labor Counsel for the City of Northampton and the City of Easthampton. She also served as City Solicitor for Northampton under multiple administrations, advising on a broad range of legal and operational matters affecting municipal governance.


In addition to her client work, Elaine has extensive experience drafting employment-related documents, including employee handbooks, supervisory manuals, collective bargaining agreements, employment contracts, and severance arrangements. She also provides in-house training to managers and supervisors on employment and labor relations issues.


Elaine has also been actively engaged in legal education and community service throughout her career, teaching labor and employment-related courses at numerous institutions and serving on the boards of several nonprofit and civic organizations.
