Kate Fergus advises businesses on complex disputes, including employment matters and commercial litigation.
Her practice includes counseling clients on employment matters and negotiating separation agreements, with a focus on resolving issues efficiently and avoiding litigation where possible. When disputes proceed to litigation, Kate represents clients in a wide range of matters, including contract, employment, intellectual property, collection, and lease disputes.
Kate has extensive litigation experience across a broad spectrum of cases, from multimillion-dollar business disputes and tort claims to landlord-tenant and property-related matters. She has tried numerous cases to verdict and represents clients before state, federal, and appellate courts.
In addition to her practice, Kate is active in the legal community and supports the advancement of women in the profession through her involvement with the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section and its Women Advocate initiative. She is a frequent contributor to the ABA’s Woman Advocate publication.
Kate began her career as an intellectual property litigator at a boutique firm in Boston and later joined a large national firm, where she expanded her practice to include employment, business, real estate, and healthcare litigation.
