Over the course of her distinguished career, Tracey counseled employers across a range of industries, including biotech, healthcare, high-tech, manufacturing, and professional services. Her practice spanned nearly every facet of employment law, including discrimination and harassment, wage and hour compliance, independent contractor classification, disability accommodations, leave laws, restrictive covenants, and workplace safety. She was known for delivering pragmatic, thoughtful guidance that helped organizations navigate complexity while strengthening their workplace practices.
A certified civil mediator and experienced workplace investigator, Tracey conducted numerous investigations into allegations of misconduct, discrimination, and harassment. Her work was widely respected for its fairness, thoroughness, and clarity in addressing sensitive and complex issues.
Tracey also placed a strong emphasis on proactive legal counseling. She regularly trained managers and employees on key employment law topics, including anti-discrimination, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and federal and Massachusetts leave laws, providing practical, experience-driven guidance.
Tracey began her legal career at Foley Hoag LLP in the Labor and Employment Department and later served as in-house Employment Counsel for a leading high-tech company in Cambridge. In 2012, she founded Spruce Law, building a practice grounded in clarity, diligence, and a deep commitment to client service. In 2025, Spruce Law combined with The Royal Law Firm, continuing the work she began.
Now retired, Tracey leaves a lasting legacy through the firm she built and the principles that continue to guide its work.
